DASH Diet – Brown rice Burgers

This meatless burger is beyond flavorful. It will truly satisfy any type of meat lover. You can cover the burger with a whole wheat bun, tomato, sweet onion, lettuce leaf, and a smear of Dijon mustard for a real taste treat. For a side- try grilled asparagus!


  • 2 cups cooked brown rice
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 cup finely grated carrot
  • ½ cup chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil for cooking


Mix together all of the ingredients besides the oil in a medium mixing bowl. Form the mixture into around 12 patties- press firmly.

Add the coconut oil to a skillet and heat over medium heat. Cook the patties until the patties are brown on each side. Turn only once on each side.
